When cultures clash, it can very easily lead to war. One the most prevalent examples in the present day is the conflicts in the Middle East, between the Sunnis and the Shiites.

Answer:

With ethnic and religious conflicts present in societies around the world, there is an escalation in violence that is shown in abuses in human rights, in more people dying and in more persecution, all concepts that affect global security.

Explanation:

An ethnic conflict is a conflict between two or more contending ethnic groups, the source of the conflict can be political, social or economic, but in most cases is due to religious aspects. These ethnic conflicts are threats to human rights, as people that are victims of them often are persecuted, harmed or even killed. When these situations start to rise around the world, the conflict is not local anymore as it is now a threat to global security, as when ethnic conflicts arises, international armed intervention is provided as a possible solution.

In your journal, create a chart outlining the advantages and disadvantages of the north and south moving into the Civil War. Use
garri49 [273]

Answer:

The North had a better advantage in the civil war because they had a better economy, a larger population, and more transporation.  The North was more revolutionized than the south because they had factories that helped produce more materials for war. The South's economy was based on agriculture and slave labor, meaning that they had fewer weapons than the North because they couldn't produce them. The North's larger population was a big advantage because more people meant more soldiers for war. The North having more transportation, such as railroads was a big advantage too. The North used the railroads to transport guns, men, food, animals, and medical supplies.

Question 9 of 25
Andreyy89

Answer:

B

Explanation:

That's an awful lot of points. You can get our attention with 10 or 15.

A: not true. That sounds like communism.

C: not true either. I know of no government that bases ownership on those who buy the products. If it happens, it is a very small percentage where the employees themselves buy the products they make and sell.

D: The government can own businesses. In Canada, our governments used to own oil companies and air lines and part ownership in other businesses (which makes us sound socialistic which we are).

The answer is B. Private companies own the factories that produce their products. Think companies like Ford and General Motors and Exxon to name just a very few. Most of the Dow 30 fall into this category. There are exceptions. Some of the Dow 30 are things like computer software. So they don't have factories as such.
