X= total number of problems

This is a proportion problem.  80% is to 100% as 32 problems is to x problems.

80/100=32/x
Cross multiply
(80*x)=(100*32)
80x=3200
Divide both sides by 80
x=40

There were 40 questions on the test.

Hope this helps!  :)

a toy maker is making mini 3 wheel & 4 wheel all terrain atvs. he has a total of 61 wheels and 17 sets of handle bars. how m
Dmitrij [34]

Answer:

let x be no. of 4-wheel and y be no. of 3-wheel ATVs

so

x+y=17 (each has one set of handlebars)

4*x + 3*y = 61

4*(x)+3*(17-x)=61

x=61-51=10

y=17-10=7

thus x=10 and y=7 and that's your answer
