Improvements in all of these areas were made possible as a result of space exploration. The space program has done much more than allow humans to go to the moon or orbit the earth. The computers that allowed the space flights to take place were later adapted to allow people to use them personally. The materials used to protect the spacecraft from extreme heat AND cold have been adapted for use on earth. Also, the machines that are used to provide astronauts with air have been modified to allow fire fighters to breathe more easily when in an emergency.
The rush for advanced space technology has contribute to various groundbreaking technologies in all those areas. Space technology focussed on how to grow food in space, and also would need heat resistant materials. there was also need for breathing systems.
the united states didn't enter ww i until Germany sent the Zimmerman telegraph to Mexico trying to convince them to join the other axis powers. the u.s. was just aiding the united kingdom with weapons while "remaining neutral" before they officially joined.
