Therefore, the  sentence that would change the language of the original sentence for a more professional audience and preserve its meaning is "Homework is unnecessary and does not benefit students" because in this the words "silly" and "dumb" have been changed to the word "unnecessary" and the word "lousy" was replaced by the word "does not benefit" which makes the sentence more formal but does not change the position and point of view of the original sentence.
