The correct answer is A. Homework is unnecessary and does not benefit students.

Explanation:

The sentence presented "Homework is silly and dumb and just lousy for kids" imply a negative position towards homework, but besides this the use of words such as "silly", "dumb" and "lousy" are too informal and even rude, which is not acceptable in formal language and therefore inappropriate for professional audience, this means these words need to be replaced by more objective and formal words while still expressing a negative perspective towards homework.

Therefore, the  sentence that would change the language of the original sentence for a more professional audience and preserve its meaning is "Homework is unnecessary and does not benefit students" because in this the words "silly" and "dumb" have been changed to the word "unnecessary" and the word "lousy" was replaced by the word "does not benefit" which makes the sentence more formal but does not change the position and point of view of the original sentence.

s2008m [1.1K]

Answer:

C). The gift grandmother brought was for me and him.

Explanation:

A prepositional phrase consist of a preposition which is followed by its object and any modifier of object. These phrases primarily function as either adjectives or adverbs to add detail in the sentence.

The object of preposition is said to be compound when the number of noun or pronoun(functioning as the object of preposition) is more than two. In the given question, the third sentence involves the prepositional phrase 'for me and him' appropriately featuring identified compound pronoun as it involves more than one object('me and him') and identifies to whom the subject(gift) is being referred to. What does NOT describe America following the abolition of slavery
Montano1993 [528]

I would say that being anti-racist does not describe America after the abolition of slavery. For decades, up until maybe the 60's African American's were mistreated with things like Jim Crow Laws, that were stopped some time in 1964. While this had ended segregation it most definitely did not end racism. Even now hate groups, like the KKK, are very prominent in America, with over 1,000 recorded in 2018.
