The perimeter of a rectangle is equal to two times the sum of the length and the width.
P=2(l+w)

Rectangle A:
l=3x+2 \\ w=2x-1 \\ \\
P_A=2(3x+2+2x-1)=2(5x+1)=10x+2

Rectangle B:
l=x+5 \\ w=5x-1 \\ \\
P_B=2(x+5+5x-1)=2(6x+4)=12x+8

The perimeter of rectangle B minus the perimeter of rectangle A:
P_B - P_A=12x+8-(10x+2)=12x+8-10x-2=\boxed{2x+6}

This may be wrong, but I think it is 4 days. Because after the first day, he’ll go 2 days before watering the first one, then 2 days later for both plants, because that would make 4 days and that’s how often he waters the second one.

Which of the following is a solution to the inequality below?
kap26 [50]

Answer:

V>-8

Step-by-step explanation:

The given inequality is :

4-V>12

Subtracting 4 from both sides.

4-V-4 > 12-4

-V>8

or

V>-8

So, the value of V is more than -8.

Prove that DE is parallel to BC. <br> Please help, will award brainliest.
Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Parallel lines have equal slopes.

To find D and E use the midpoint formula

Given endpoints (x₁, y₁ ) and (x₂, y₂ ) then the midpoint is

( \frac{x_{1}+x_{2}  }{2}, \frac{y_{1}+y_{2}  }{2} )

Here (x₁, y₁ ) = A(4, 6) and (x₂, y₂ ) = B(2, - 2) , then

D = (\frac{4+2}{2}, \frac{6-2}{2} ) = (3, 2 ) and

let (x₁, y₁ ) = B(2, - 2\frac{-4+2}{-2-2} ) and (x₂, y₂ ) = C(- 2, - 4 ), then

E = ( \frac{4-2}{2}, \frac{6-4}{2} ) = (1, 1 )

Use the slope formula to find slopes of DE and BC

m = \frac{y_{2}-y_{1}  }{x_{2}-x_{1}  }

with (x₁, y₁ ) = D(3, 2) and (x₂, y₂ ) = E(1, 1), then

m_{DE} = \frac{1-2}{1-3} = \frac{-1}{-2} = \frac{1}{2}

Repeat with (x₁, y₁ ) = B(2, - 2) and (x₂, y₂ ) = C(- 2, - 4), then

m_{BC} = \frac{-4+2}{-2-2} = \frac{-2}{-4} = \frac{1}{2}

Since the slopes are equal then DE and BC are parallel lines
