The Great Awakening was a religious revival in the 1730s and 1740s. It was particularly influential in the New England colonies, and sparked renewed religious activity in America. Many preachers were involved, including George Whitefield, and Jonathan Edwards, who preached the famous sermon, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God."

Many of the branches of Christianity that were most affected by the Great Awakening (including Baptists, Methodists, and Presbyterians) were among those that most supported the American Revolution. Furthermore, the enthusiasm and dedication to religious ideals and the social and political ideology that often came with these contributed to the push for American nationalism and the activism that enabled it to occur.

So, it not only changed the religious make-up of America and inspired people to turn to Jesus, but also it was one of the factors that influenced the American Revolution that occurred just decades later. All of my homies like pie.
The main effect of the Great Awakening was the rebellion against authoritarian religious rule that spilled over into the other areas of colonial life.

Why did colonial workers earn lower wages than Europeans?
puteri [66]

Answer:

Due to economy and number of workers.

Explanation:

The colonial workers earn lower wages than Europeans because of the economy of the state as well as presence of large number of workers in the colony as compared to Europeans. Supply of materials plays a key role for its price. If the supply for a material increases, its price also decreases due to excess quantity. There are limited workers in the Europe and they have a strong economy due to which Europeans workers have high wages as compared to colonial workers.

Why were workers from eastern states encouraged to come to Oklahoma during the early oil boom?
Brilliant_brown [7]
Workers from the Eastern states were encouraged to come to Oklahoma during the early oil boom because they played it up as though it was a great life, the money was great, the area was great. Everything was to be had in Oklahoma and in the West versus struggling in the East.
