Disenfranchised grief refers to a situation where the grief is not understood or felt by the society at the same level as that of the victims. Here Trina and her husband had not informed anyone of her pregnancy so people close to them did not share the emotional bond with her pregnancy. If now Tina and her husband inform them of the miscarriage, they wont feel the pain and sadness at the same level as that of them. They can be empathetic but they wont fully comprehend the situation since they were not involved emotionally with the pregnancy.
