In biology, bacteria are unicellular and prokaryotic organisms as they do not contain a nucleus. Bacteria are mainly characterized by their simple structure, the capability to survive in almost any environment and small size.
In terms of discovery, bacteria were unknown for many centuries; however, this changed in the 17th century as the Dutch scientist Van Leeuwenhoek designed a microscope and was able to observe a bacteria for the first time in 1676. This also led to subsequent studies and in this way nowadays there is a lot of information about this type of microorganism. According to this, it is false scientists discovered bacteria for the first time in the 1920s as bacteria were discovered in 1676.
