They believed that organized religion was very important to keep order in society. Conservatives hated revolutions and were unwilling to accept demands from people who wanted either individual rights or representative. The Causes of the French Revolution of 1848. <span>Some of the causes of the French Revolution was the severe economic problems beginning in 1846 brought untold hardship in France to the lower-middle class, workers, and peasants. Also, many members of the middle class wanted the right to vote. The government of the then king of France, Louis Philippe, refused to make changes, and opposition grew.
