Answer:

mean = 14.5 ; median = 15.5 ; interquartile = 7.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : 17,23,8,5,9,16,22,11,13,15,17,18.

To find : Find the mean median and interquartile for the data set .

Solution : We have given 17,23,8,5,9,16,22,11,13,15,17,18.

First we arrange in ascending order 5 , 8 ,9 ,11, 13, 15, 16 , 17, 17,18, 22, 23,

Mean : \frac{Sum\ of\ all\ number}{total\ number}.

Mean :  \frac{5+8+9 +11 +13+ 15+16+17+17+18+ 22+23,}{12}.

Mean : 14.5

Median : Average of middle two numbers

Median :  \frac{15 + 16}{2}.

Median :  \frac{31}{2}.

Median : 15 .5

Interquartile  : median of lower half  - median of upper half.

Interquartile  : \frac{17 +18}{2}  - \frac{9 + 11}{2}.

Interquartile  :  17.5 - 10= 7.5

Therefore, mean = 14.5 ; median = 15.5 ; interquartile = 7.5

This figure represents a small weight that is to be covered on all sides with a floral fabric. How much fabric is needed to cove
Anon25 [30]

Answer:

77.5 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to find the surface area of the rectangular prism.

Total surface area = 2(lw + wh + lh)

where:

  • l = length of base
  • w = width of base
  • h = height of prism

Given dimensions:

\textsf{length}=\sf 6\dfrac12\:cm=6.5\:cm

\textsf{width}=\sf 2\dfrac12\:cm=2.5\:cm

\textsf{height}=\sf 2\dfrac12\:cm=2.5\:cm

Substituting these value into the formula:

\begin{aligned}\textsf{Surface area} & =\sf 2(6.5 \cdot 2.5+2.5 \cdot 2.5+6.5 \cdot 2.5)\\ & = \sf2(16.25+6.25+16.25)\\ & = \sf 2(38.75)\\ & =\sf77.5\:cm^2 \end{aligned}

Therefore, 77.5 cm² of fabric is needed to cover the weight.

5. The Jones family orders four pizzas to eat. Each pizza is sliced into four parts. How many pizza slices do they get in total?
morpeh [17]

Answer:

16 slices

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Number of pizzas ordered = 4

Number of slices per pizza = 4

If 4 pizzas are each sliced into 4 parts ; the we have :

Pizza 1 = 4 slices

Pizza 2 = 4 slices

Pizza 3 = 4 slices

Pizza 4 = 4 slices

Total slices = (4 +4 +4 +4) = 16 slices

Which of the following is the maximum value of the function y = −x^2 + 2x + 1?
azamat

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

We don't need choices to find out the correct answer. Solve this problem by completing the square. Begin by setting the quadratic equal to 0 and moving over the constant, like this:

-x^2+2x=-1 and factor out the -1 in front of the x-squared, since the leading coefficient HAS to be a 1:

-1(x^2-2x)=-1 Now take half the linear term, square it, and add it to both sides. Our linear term is -2. Half of -2 is -1, and squaring that gives us 1. So we add a 1 into both sides. But that -1 out front there on the left is a multiplier, so what we actually added in was -1(1) which is -1:

-1(x^2-2x+1)=-1-1

On the left side we have a perfect square binomial, which is why we do this, and on the right side we have -2:

-1(x-1)^2=-2 and we can move that constant back over and set the quadratic back equal to y:

y=-1(x-1)^2+2  which gives us a max height of 2.

(If this was modeling parabolic motion, we would know that the time it takes to get to that max height is 1 second. The vertex of this parabola is (1, 2))

if the probability of an event is 26% what is the probability of its complement occurring? a. 100% b. 74% c. 26% or d. 24%
oksian1 [2.3K]
B. 74%
This is because the complement plus the original must equal 100%.
So...
100 - 26 = 74

Galina-37 [17]
Well due to my calculations Tom should have gotten 311.5 dollars last week.

40×7=280
7÷2=3.5
9×3.5=31.5
31.5+280=311.5

Or You could do this
(40×7)+(3.5×9)=311.5
