Edgar borrowed a total of $10,000 from three sources: the bank, his mom, and a close friend. After one year, he paid a total of

$624 in simple interest toward the three loans. The bank charged an interest rate of 7% per year, his mom charged 5%, and the friend charged 6%. The amount he borrowed from his mom exceeded the amount he borrowed from his friend by $200. What amount did Edgar borrow from the bank?

The amount that Edgar borrowed from the bank is $5,000. From his mom is $2,600 while from his friend is $2,400. This can be checked using the total interest of $624.

Bank: $5,000 x 0.07 = $350
Mom: $2,600 x 0.05 = $130
Friend: $2,400 x 0.06 = $144

Adding all three results to $624.

Answer:

C. 4/3x - 5

Step-by-step explanation:

First, to eliminate unnecessary answers, we can find out how to make sure the line will be perpendicular to -3/4. You will know if two lines are perpendicular if the slopes are COMPLETELY opposite. For example, 4/3 is COMPLETELY opposite from -3/4.

-3/4......4/3

So, now we know we eliminated two answers. We are left with A and C.

Then, I opened an online graphing calculator and found out which one of these lines pass through (12,9). Attached is a picture proving that answer C's line crosses through this point. Please mark me Brainliest; I need it to move on in my account! =D

If n is a positive integer and r is the remainder when (n – 1)(n + 1) is divided by 24, what is the value of r?
11Alexandr11 [23.1K]

(1) n is not divisible by 2 --> pick two odd numbers: let's say 1 and 3 --> if , then and as zero is divisible by 24 (zero is divisible by any integer except zero itself) so remainder is 0 but if , then and 8 divided by 24 yields remainder of 8. Two different answers, hence not sufficient.

(2) n is not divisible by 3 --> pick two numbers which are not divisible by 3: let's say 1 and 2 --> if , then , so remainder is 0 but if , then and 3 divided by 24 yields remainder of 3. Two different answers, hence not sufficient.

(1)+(2) Let's check for several numbers which are not divisible by 2 or 3:

--> --> remainder 0;

--> --> remainder 0;

--> --> remainder 0;

--> --> remainder 0.

Well it seems that all appropriate numbers will give remainder of 0.
