Answer:

After Latin American nations won independence, US president James Monroe issued a warning to European countries. He told European countries that they shouldn't attempt to take back the colonies that they had once owned.

Explanation:

James Monroe proposed the Monroe Doctrine, in which he addressed the Europeans with the intention that none of the countries of that continent would interfere in America. "America for the Americans", meant that Europe could not invade or have colonies on the continent. Observing the process of imperialism that began to take place after the defeat of Napoleon in Waterloo, the doctrine warned that the European powers could take territories of Asia and Africa but that America belonged to the Americans, although given the ambiguity of this demonym, it could be a defense to the independences of Latin America so that they could have their own government, or the exclusivity of the dominion of the American Continent to the nascent United States of America.

Which statement best describes why the city of Jerusalem was such a contested territory in the 20th century
Nimfa-mama [501]

Well, you did not provide the answer choices but hopefully this answer helps you. The reason why Jerusalem has been such a contested territory is because so many religions have tried to claim Jerusalem as their own holy city. They have fought for control of the city throughout the ages. Such religions include Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Roman Catholicism, and more.

Kipish [7]

The correct answer is option A "appealed to the Deists". The Second Great Awakening does not appealed to the Deists, because this movement not only rejected the skeptical rationalism of the Enlightenment, but also the Deism that was encouraged during the scientific revolution that happened during the Enlightenment as well.
