An animal with thick fur is best suited for tundra biome.

Tundra biome is a flat and treeless arctic biome that is characterized by low temperatures and very short growing seasons. The climate of the tundra biome is very harsh, windy and extremely cold for most part of the year. Animals with thick fur are best suited for tundra biome. The thick fur of animals is a special adaptation that functions as an insulator protecting animals from the harsh climate in the environment. The thick fur helps animals to retain their body heat, keeping them warm and reducing heat loss. Examples of animals with thick fur that can be found in the tundra biome include; Polar bear, Tundra and Arctic Wolves and Musk Oxen.

Alexeev081 [22]

Answer: The correct answer is Enzymes.

Process of digestion involves the breakdown of large complex molecules ( like carbohydrates, and proteins) present in the food into smaller soluble molecules ( like glucose and amino acids) that can be absorbed by bloodstream and transported to various body organs.

Protein in the stomach is broken down into amino acids with the help of enzyme called as pepsin ( a protease). It is an endo-peptidase that is produced in the stomach and helps in the digestion of proteins at acidic pH of the stomach ( 1.5 to 2).

If a true-breeding blue-flowered plant was crossed with a true-breeding white-flowered plant, what phenotypic ratio would we obs
Westkost [7]

Answer:

B. 100 percent white

Explanation:

According to Mendel's law of dominance, the dominant allele of a gene masks the expression of the recessive allele in a heterozygous state. Therefore, when two pure breeding plants that differ with respect to one genetic trait are crossed, the progeny expresses only the dominant phenotype. Here, one allele should be completely dominant over the other. The allele for the white flowers is completely dominant over the allele for the blue flowers.

Let' assume that the allele "W" imparts white color to the flowers while the allele "w" gives blue color. When a true-breeding blue-flowered plant (ww) is crossed with a true-breeding white-flowered plant (WW), the progeny would be heterozygous for the dominant allele "W" and would exhibit "white color of flowers" (the dominant trait).

WW (white-flowered plant) x ww (blue-flowered plant) = Ww (white-flowered plant)

Lisa [10]

Answer:

a The volume of the liquid should be measured before it is heated.

Explanation:

A student would like to determine how heating a liquid changes its volume. The student hypothesizes that the liquid will increase in volume. The following list shows the steps taken by the student in order to test the hypothesis.

Select the liquid to test.

Place the liquid in a sealed container.

Use a Bunsen burner to heat the liquid by 10°C.

Measure the volume of the liquid.

Record the results.

What is wrong with how the student conducted the investigation?

a The volume of the liquid should be measured before it is heated.

b The hypothesis was not valid because it is impossible for liquids to change in volume.

c The student should have increased the temperature of the liquid by more than 10ºC.

d The length of time it took for the liquid to be heated should be measured.

The answer is A i.e The volume of the liquid should be measured before it is heated. I think this is surely right!!
