Read the passage. From “The Story of an Hour” She could see in the open square before her house the tops of trees that were all

aquiver with the new spring life. The delicious breath of rain was in the air. In the street below a peddler was crying his wares. The notes of a distant song which someone was singing reached her faintly, and countless sparrows were twittering in the eaves. Considering the news Mrs. Mallard has just received, what is ironic about the details she notices through her window?

This entire passage directly relates to Mrs. Mallard's realization that she is free. It's not that she didn't love her husband, it's the fact that as a wife, her actions were limited. Limited by her husband, by convention, as well as by society. With his death, she is merely a widow.... someone to be humored and left to her own devices. She sees the outdoors as an unlimited future.

The details create a positive mood, one of new beginnings. However, Mrs. Mallard has just received the news that her husband has died which is really an ending. The reader would expect the descriptions to be dark and sad to reflect the grieving widow. Irony is when something happens that is the opposite of what is expected. The details represent Mrs. Mallard's new freedom. The death of her husband starts a life that she can live just for herself. She feels that she has just been reborn in a way. This is also not what the reader would expect as a reaction.

Why are people, and in particular girls and women, willing to risk death to escape the refugee camp
ASHA 777 [7]
People are willing to risk death to escape the camps because they are intensely overcrowded, with people living in shelters made of bamboo and plastic sheeting. Also, the people in the camps can't get jobs or leave the camps without permission, putting them in a permanent state of poverty.

Identify and explain a universal theme conveyed by the description of the battle between Beowulf and Grendel?
SashulF [63]

Answer:

The universal theme of this battle is Good vs Evil.

Explanation:

The descriptions of these two very different characters shows that Beowulf represents everything that is good, he is a proud and brave warrior, loyal to his king and protective of others. On the other hand, Grendel appears as an Evil creature, son of darkness, the one who brings death and destruction. Both characters are portrayed in this way through the vocabulary used by the narrator to describe them in a precise way, and in each case these descriptions depict the light and the darkness that is found in them.

Select the correct text in the passage.
andrey2020 [161]

The correct answer is “You have rightly chosen,” said God, “for in my garden of Paradise this little bird shall sing forevermore, and in my city of gold the Happy Prince shall praise me.”

Explanation:

In a story, the resolution is the final section that describes the final situation of the main characters. This final part can be happy, sad, or even an undefined ending. Also, in this section, the main conflict in the story is completely solved.

In the case of "The Happy Prince", the resolution is better expressed in the section "You have rightly chosen,” said God..." because, in this section, the reader knows at the end both the Happy Prince and the bird received compensation for helping others. Also, in this part, the main conflict has been solved because poor people in the town were helped.
