What ideas about power does shelley explore in ozymandias (PEE Paragraph)

English

Ozymandias- he thinks of himself as the big shot. He boasts about his work(look upon my works and ur might despair). Ozymandias has this aroma of arrogance on his pedestal he proclaims to be the (king of kings) and warns other rulers or his enemies to be sad-(despair). He thought that the statue and his work will forever immortalise him and he shall be the king of kings but now it's all just a (colossal wreck) all the power he might have once had, all his accomplishments are now (lone and level) - this suggests that he is no longer a feared ruler but just a pile of rubble in the middle of nowhere. The whole poem it self is mocking ozymandias that his work is no longer there his is no longer the King of kings.

Hoochie [10]

Answer:

Satanta's speech is affected by the humble tone by making it sound respectful to the commissioners. This is also important since he says that he will not hide anything from them. By speaking in this way, Stanata makes his speech match what he is saying. If the opposite happened and the tone was presumptuous, this would take away value from that which he is asking from the listeners.

Read the opening lines of Twelfth Night. How do these lines introduce the audience to the theme of love, including the ways in w
andrew11 [14]

Answer:

Orsino, the lovesick duke of Illyria, speaks these lines. He introduces the audience to the theme of love as overpowering and fickle. He calls sweet music the "food of love" and wants "an excess of it" so that he can satisfy his appetite for it. However, when the music is no longer sweet, Orsino compares it to the sea. Like the sea, it engulfs everything and debases its value to a "low price." He concludes that love can change from sweet music to an engulfing sea in a matter of one minute. He also suggests that it shifts shape at whim. The fickleness of love reflects Orsino's own inconstant nature, casting him as self-indulgent and melodramatic. Finally, because Orsino never names the object of his love in these opening lines, the emotional outpouring indicates that Orsino is consumed more by the idea of love than by love for Olivia.
