The painting At The Moulin Rouge by French impressionist painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was greatly influenced by Japanese prints. He was one of the foremost artists of the post-impressionist movement along with other notable artists like Van Gogh and Gauguin. These painters found inspiration in Impressionism and also outside of western art. Thus the Japanese prints from which they learned how to use an oblique, skewed perspective.
