In Applied Life Data Analysis (Wiley, 1982), Wayne Nelson presents the breakdown time of an insulating fluid between electrodes

at 34 kV. The times, in minutes, are as follows: 0.19, 0.78, 0.96, 1.31, 2.78, 3.16, 4.15, 4.67, 4.85, 6.50, 7.35, 8.01, 8.27, 12.06, 31.75, 32.52, 33.91, 36.71, and 72.89. Calculate the sample mean and sample standard deviation.

Our data are:

0.19

0.78

0.96

1.31

2.78

3.16

4.15

4.67

4.85

6.50

7.35

8.01

8.27

12.06

31.75

32.52

33.91

36.71

72.89

From this data we have n=19

Mean is (\bar{x}) equal to:

\bar{x} = \frac{\sum x_i}{n}

We summarize all the values and divide them by the total number of samples.

\bar{x}=\frac{272.82}{19}

\bar{x} = 14.3589

In another hand we have that Standard Variation is equal to

s=\sqrt{\frac{\sum(x_i-\bar{x})^2}{n-1}}

For this case we take the value of each of our samples, we subtract the average and we square it to that value. We do this with each of the data and in the end we divide them by the total population of the sample (n) minus 1.

s= \frac{(0.19-14.3589)^2.... (72.89-14.35)^2}{19-1}

s=18.880

Weight of a parakeet customary unit
vladimir1956 [14]

There are many different types of parakeets and therefore many different 'ideal weights'. The most common pet parakeet is the budgerigar whose ideal weight is about 30-40 grams. I would answer 3 to 5 ounces.

Find a 95% confidence interval for the mean auditory response time for subjects with a visual response time of 200 ms. The 95% c
Sveta_85 [38]

Answer:

hello your question is incomplete attached below is the complete question

answer : ( 184.019 , 206.219 )

Step-by-step explanation:

The 95% confidence interval for the mean auditory response time for subjects with a visual response time of 200 ms can be calculated using this relationship below

y = Bo + B1 ( 200 )  = 195.118621 , sy =

hence a 95% confidence interval = 195.118621 ± 2.306( 4.813492) i.e.  ( 184.019 , 206.219 )

attached below is the remaining part the solution

Convert 750ft to metre
Angelina_Jolie [31]
One meter is composed of approximately 3.28 feet. To convert a certain measure in feet to meter, divide the number by 3.28. From the given above, using dimensional analysis and the conversion factor,

                      (750 ft) x (1 m/ 3.28 ft) = 228.66 m

Thus, 750 ft is approximately 228.66 in meters.
