As people age, they tend to become more conservative. This is particularly true for social issues as they become more liberal with each generation, tradition keeps older generation holding onto what becomes conservative ideology. Economically and politically it depends on how much they rely on government programs likes Medicare, Social Security, and welfare assistance.
