first surname, then name.
then comes the title:
Malan, Rian. My Traitor's Heart
after that it's the publisher and the publication date:
Malan, Rian. My Traitor's Heart, Bodley Head, 1990
and finally the location:
Malan, Rian. My Traitor's Heart, Bodley Head, 1990, London - this is the correct citation according to the MLA style

This is the correct form, though you need to be specific and describe who "them" is.
