Based on the scenario above, the way Charity feels sick at the sight of the potatoes was because of the conditioned response. A conditioned response occurs when an individual has established an automatic response after the individual has been associated with an ordinary neutral stimulus. In which she feels sick at the sight of the potatoes because of the fact that she became sick after eating the cold potatoes that she had before.
