C is the correct answer because its index is an odd number (=> positive or negative sign will remain as it is) and it does not have a negative sign behind x, meaning that a negative x will result in a negative y or f(x) and thus fulfilling the second condition.

A and D are wrong because a negative x would result in a positive y or f(x) because it has a even number as an index. This does not satisfy the second condition where a negative x should result in a negative y or f(x)

B is wrong because there is a negative sign behind x which makes the positive x result in a negative y or f(x), or the negative x into a positive y or f(x)

All of them satisfy the first condition, though, where a positive x results in a positive

Therefore answer is C

Answer: 18.7

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the lengths of AB, BC, and CA

AB = \sqrt{(4-(-1))^{2} + (-1-4)^{2} } = 5\sqrt{2} ≈ 7.1

BC = \sqrt{(0-(-1))^{2} + (-3-4)^{2} } = 5\sqrt{2} ≈ 7.1

CA = \sqrt{(0-4)^{2} + (-3-(-1))^{2} } = 2\sqrt{5} ≈ 4.5

7.1 + 7.1 + 4.5 = 18.7

At high noon, you can feel warm air coming from inland. During noon, especially in spring and summer, the radiation caused by the Sun warms the land surface more compared to the sea surface. This is because heat is directly applied on the land surface compared to the ocean.

Consider the figure in the diagram above. ABJK is a rectangle. There are two semicircles cut out of the rectangle. AB=8cm; AJ=18
RUDIKE [14]
First find the area of the rectangle, then remove the circular area.

AB * AJ = 8 * 18 = 144 sq cm

Circle = \pi r^{2}
=\pi 4^{2}
=3.14 * 16
=50.24 sq cm

144 - 50.24 = 93.76 sq cm shaded area.
