Answer:

1,120

Step-by-step explanation:

We start off the multiples of 8 with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88, 96, 104

The smallest positive 2 digit multiple is 16

The smallest 3 digit multiple is 104

We know 8 x 100 = 800, so we are still in 3 digits

Now we try 8 X 110 = 880

Now let's try 8 x 120 = 960

Now, 8 x 125 = 1,000 which is the smallest 4 digit number we can get

16 + 104 + 1000 = 1,120

Aidan is participating in an 8 mile walk for his favorite charity. The organizers used a coordinate grid to plot the course. The
Travka [436]

Answer:

Aidan is 2 miles far from the ending point when he reaches the water station.

Step-by-step explanation:

The locations of the starting point, water station and ending point are (3, 1), (3, 7) and (3, 9), all expressed in miles. First we determine the distances between starting and ending points and between starting point and water station by the Pythagorean Theorem:

From starting point to ending point:

D = \sqrt{(3-3)^{2}+(9-1)^{2}} (Eq. 1)

D = 8\,mi

From starting point to water station:

d = \sqrt{(3-3)^{2}+(7-1)^{2}} (Eq. 2)

d = 6\,mi

The distance between the water station and the ending point is:

s = D-d (Eq. 3)

s = 8\,mi-6\,mi

s = 2\,mi

Hence, Aidan is 2 miles far from the ending point when he reaches the water station.

A dinner plate has a circumference of 106.76 cm. What is the area of the dinner plate? Use = 3.14.
Sphinxa [80]
C=2pr,  r=c/(2p)

a=pr^2, using r found above we get:

a=p(c^2/(4p^2))

a=(c^2)/(4p), since c=106.76 and we approximate pi as 3.14

a=(106.76^2)/(4*3.14)

a=11612.2176/12.56 cm^2

a≈924.54 cm^2  (to nearest one-hundredth of a square cm)

Please help!! I need to make up my own formula with LENGTH X WIDTH, can someone please help me!!!
damaskus [11]

Answer:

A = s²

Step-by-step explanation:

A = s² where s represents the side lengths

Since the side lengths of a square are always the same, you can use the formula A = s² for a square instead of using A=l(w)
