The APA Style of any text citation or writing in academics which is governed by the American Psychological Association. It's name also directly refers to the governing body APA (American Psychological Association).
This citation and format style is mostly used within the social sciences and behavioral studies. The style guide of this format of writing/ citation is first mentioned in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, with its first edition out in 1952. This edition marked the beginning of the APA style as a recognized form of writing.
