Answer:

x  =  8  ft

h =  1/2  ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be side of the base then area of the base is x²

Let h be the height of the tank

Tank volume is   32 ft³     and is   32  =  x²*h    then  h  = 32 /x²

Area of base + lateral area = total area (A)

A = x²  + 4*x*h      ⇒   A = x²  + 4*x*(32/x²)          A = x²  + 128/x

A(x)  = x²  + 128/x     (1)

Taking derivatives on both sides of the equation

A´(x)   =  2x   -  128/x²             A´(x)   =  0             2x   -  128/x²   =  0

(2x² -128) / x²    =  0

2x²  -  128  = 0

x²  =√64

x  =  8  ft

The result is minimum since replacing in equation (1) x = 8 we get

A(x) > 0

And

h  =  32/x²

h =  1/2  ft

The mean of a population being sampled is 64, and and the standard deviation is 6. If the sample size is 50, the standard error
Fiesta28 [93]
Given:
mean = 64
standard deviation = 6
sample size = 50

Standard error of the sample mean = standard deviation / √sample size

Standard error = 6 / √50 = 6/7.07 = 0.85

a rectangular garden measures 22.7 m by 16.6 m how many meters of fencing materials are needed to enclose it the fencing materia
pantera1 [17]

Answer:

78.6m of fencing

That would cost $982.50

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter: 2(22.7)+2(16.6)=P

P = 78.6

Cost: 78.6*12.50

C = 982.50

Anabelle collected data on the favorite superhero of the students in her class. The table shows the relative frequencies of rows
valentinak56 [21]

Considering the proportions given in the table, the superhero is most likely to be the favorite is Superman.

What is a proportion?

A proportion is a fraction of a total amount, and the measures are related using a rule of three. Due to this, relations between variables, either direct or inverse proportional, can be built to find the desired measures in the problem.

Looking at the table, the proportions associated with each superhero is given as follows:

  • Superman: 0.46.
  • Spiderman: 0.27.
  • Batman: 0.09.
  • Wonder woman: 0.18.

As it has the highest proportion, the superhero is most likely to be the favorite is Superman.
