(x + 4) (x - 4) - x² + 16
Nitella [24]

Answer:

infinite solutions

Step-by-step explanation:

Hey there!

In order to solve this problem, we need to first distribute the (x+4)(x-4)

This is equal to x^2-16

Now we can combine like terms

x^2 and -x^2 cancel out

also

16 and -16 cancel out

The equation ends up as 0 = 0

So the answer to this answer is infinite solutions

F(x) =2/3x+3<br> what is the value of f(12)
nataly862011 [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) = 2/3 x + 3

This has the meaning that whatever you see in the backets on the left, you put in the x on the right.

f(12) = 2/3 (12) +3

2/3 12 = 4  * 2 = 8

f(12) = 8 + 3

f(12) = 11

Can anyone help me? My teacher wants me to show my work so I just need to know how to turn a fraction into a whole number. I don
Evgesh-ka [11]

Usually, you CAN'T turn a fraction into a whole number.

You can ONLY do it when the top number is a multiple
of the bottom number.  Otherwise, it's not possible.

IF the top number is a multiple of the bottom number,
then take the bottom number, and divide both the top
and the bottom of the fraction by it.  Then the top number
will be the whole number that's equal to the original fraction.

Examples:

        12 / 5 .   12 is not a multiple of 5 , so there is
NO whole number that's equal to  12/5 .

         5 / 12 .   Same thing.  5 is not a multiple of 12 .

         12 / 3 .   12 is a multiple of 3 .
Divide top and bottom by 3 .
                        Then you have   4 / 1 .
                         4  is the same as  12/3 .
