(a) Mars; (2) is thought to have liquid water in the past.

(b) Mercury; (1) has no moons.

(c) Saturn; (5) has the moon Titan.

(d) Jupiter; (4) has over 60 moons.

(e) Neptune; (3) the farthest planet from the sun at certain times.

The planets are bodies which orbit the sun directly and are massive enough to be in hydrostatic equilibrium and to dominate its orbit. There are eight planets in the Solar System and they include Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

(1) is Mercury (b) Mercury is too close to the sun to have moons or an atmosphere.

(2) is Mars (a) Mars has ice at its North and South poles.

(3) is Neptune. (e) Technically, since Pluto is considered a dwarf planet, Neptune is always the closest planet to the Sun.

(4) could be Jupiter or Saturn, but because Saturn has the moon Titan, we will save that for later. So, (4) is Jupiter. (d)

(5) is Saturn. (c) Titan is Saturn's biggest moon.
