So.. if you notice the picture below.. .the length is that much

thus    \bf A=lw\qquad \cfrac{1800-3w}{2}=l\implies 900-\cfrac{3w}{2}=l
\\\\\\
A=\left( 900-\cfrac{3w}{2} \right)w\implies A=900w-\cfrac{3w^2}{2}\implies A=900w-\cfrac{3}{2}w^2

take the derivative of A, zero it out, and then check the critica points for any maxima by using the first-derivative test

In ΔDEF,{EF}\cong{DE} EF ≅ DE and m∠E = 104°. Find m∠D.
Alexeev081 [22]

The 3 inside angles need to equal 180.

Subtract E from 180 to find the sum of the other two angles:

180 - 104 = 76

Now because EF ≅ DE , angle D and F would be the same so divide 76 by 2

Angle D = 38

An envelope is 4 cm longer than it is wide. the area is 96 square centimeters. find the length and width.
Dennis_Churaev [7]
<span>So, L*W=A Because it is 4 cm longer, L=W+4 Because the area is 96, LW=96 Substitute to get W(W+4)=96 Multiply it out. W^2+4W-96=0 By solving the quadratic, W+12(W-8)=0 so either W+12 or W-8 is zero. The width must be positive, so the width is 8. Therefore the length is 12.

  Hope this helps.</span>
