Got a calculator? all you do for #1 and #2 is multiply the two numbers and that is the value for x.
These problems are cross multiplication.
For the next two:
.25x = 6
divide both sides by .25
x = 24
NEXT ONE:
.49x = 12
divide both sides by .49
x = 24.48

Lilit [14]
You can buy 6 lbs of apples for 9$ because 3*3=9, and 2*3=6 and it maintains a constant rate of change(random term that doesn't really apply but still works)9lb=144 oz...144 divided by 5 is 28 apples with change left over.

If p and q vary inversely and p is 4 when q is 15, determine q when p is equal to 30
Effectus [21]

The value of q when q varies inversely with p is 2.

What is the value of q?

The formula that can be used to represent inverse variation is:

p = k/q

Where:

 • p = dependent variable
 • q = independent variable
 • k = constant of proportionality

The first step is to determine the value of the constant of proportionality

k = p x q

k = 15 x 4 = 60

Given the value of the constant of proportionality, the value of q can now be determined.

30 = 60/q

q = 60 / 30

q = 2
