The role of the media in responsibly reporting a human right violation is to give accurate information about the issue.

The media should give accurate information in the sense that they must not be one-sided, they must give accounts of the whole matter.

Further Explanation

It is incumbent on the media when reporting human right violation to unravel how the violation occurred, who committed the violation, whose right was violated, where the violation took place and how the media also got to know about the violation.

The media should not be bias in their report and must cover every important area when reporting the matter.

It will amount to media bias if the media fails to report the matter objectively and decides to push forward a specific viewpoint. In other words, the media must not ignore the important part of the story when reporting it.

Human right violation is when the right of a person or a group of people is violated. It is the responsibility of the state to ensure that the fundamental human rights of the people are protected.

However, a person human’s rights can be violated by the people that are working for the government. A violation can be committed by policemen, judges, prosecutors, etc.
