How many NEUTRONS does an element have if it’s atomic number is 44 and it’s mass number is 154 ?
krek1111 [17]

If the element has a atomic number of forty-four then the amount of neutrons would be "fifty-seven." This element is actually called Ruthenium and it has forty-four protons, and electrons, and it has fifty-seven neutrons and you can determine this by using this equation then solve:

44 + N = 101

= 57

Hope this helps!

Amylase catalyzes a reaction with starch to directly create _______.
mario62 [17]

Maltose is produced instantly when amylase reacts with starch.

Starch is a polysaccharide molecule made of glucose units. The chemical formula of the starch is written as (C₆H₁₀O₅)ₙ. The starch consists of amylose and amylopectin. The glucose units in this starch are linked with the help of two kinds of bonds α 1,4 glycosidic linkages and α 1,6 glycosidic linkages.

This starch molecule is first hydrolyzed into shorter polysaccharides, dextrins, and maltose with a help of an enzyme called amylase. The maltose can be further hydrolyzed into glucose units with the help of the maltase enzyme.

Therefore, the blank can be filled with maltose.

The older crust in this case would be at point D, the newest at point A.
umka2103 [35]

Explanation:

New ocean crust is formed at the mid ocean ridges. The new crust is then pushed away from the ridge as newer crust comes to the surface. The ocean crust then spreads out enlarging the ocean. The farer away from the ridge the ocean crust is the older the crust
