Answer:

The expansion of railways meant manufacturers could ship goods cheaply.

The building of the railroads changed the environment of the West.

Explanation:

The construction of railroads in the early nineteenth century is considered a landmark in the history of the country's economic development. The creation and expansion of railways allowed goods to flow to places of greater distance, opening up new consumer markets, which favored the expansion of the economy. At the same time, there was a reduction effect on the transportation cost, a variable that has a great weight in the final price of the products, impacting their competitiveness.

Of course, the expansion of the railroads affected everyone. In the case of insiders, the impact was negative, forcing them to move around and change their social life patterns. From an economic perspective, the expansion of railroads dramatically altered the landscape and the environment of the country and the West as a whole, since the US took a big step to emerge as an economic power.

What is a good organizing topic for the post–Civil War era?
Elza [17]

Reconstruction is a good organizing topic for the post–Civil War era.

Explanation:

When the Union tasted the fruit of victory in 1865's Civil War, it provided the saves with the freedom. Also, there was huge damage in the South that made the South economically poor. Soon after passing the Abolishment act President Lincoln was assassinated.

Then the presidency was automatically given to Andrew Johnson. Andrew always had thoughts the same as Lincoln had. They wanted to rebuild the South back so Johnson announced the plan of "Reconstruction". That reflected in both Unionism and in the state's rights. With the help of the Union army, the lands were built back.

Thus the rebuilt lands were provided to the freed slaves by the Freedmen Bureau and Union Army. The Reconstruction plan existed till 1877 and it stopped due to the rise of southern whites' violence. Because of the changes made by Congress in the Reconstruction plan that turned it into a Radical Reconstruction plan.
