I believe the answer is: b. allow efficient gathering of unobservant phenomena

Survey is conducted by letting the subject to fill up a set of questionaires by their own without the supervision of the researchers. Because of this, gathering needed information became extremely efficient since it can be conducted with very little labor resource and could take up large number of population.

Public goods, like national defense, are usually funded through government because:________
antoniya [11.8K]

Due to the difficulty of denying national security to someone unwilling to pay for it, public goods like national defense are often supported by the government.

Why is it that government funding is typically used to support public goods like the national defense?

National Defense is one of the examples of the public good. If one individual in a particular location is protected against an attack or invasion by a foreign power, other people there are probably similarly protected. Due to the difficulty in charging for defense as a result, it suffers from the well-known free-rider issue. In fact, practically all economists are of the opinion that government action and taxation are the only ways to finance adequate defense.

The double burden borne by many women—work outside the home followed by child care and housework—is referred to as_________.
MrRissso [65]

Answer:

the childcare and housework that women have to perform in addition to work outside the home is known as the second shift.

Explanation:

Unfortunately, it is still a human universal that women do the majority of housework in all countries. Harlie Hochschild has referred to this burden as "the second shift." In the author's interviews with research subjects, she found there was marital tension surrounding this issue in many couples and that women had a lack of sexual interest and were sleep deprived as a result. Hochschild also found that men in her study preferred the traditional role for women. Women should perform all the domestic work in their view. Women preferred an egalitarian arrangement where the housework and responsibilities with the children were shared.
