Abina was a slave during the  period  given to Quamina Eddoo for a short period of time. Although she considers herself  a slave, she therefore decides to flee her "master" Eddoo towards the shores of Cape Town.  Abina and  Important Men is an interpretation of the testimony of a young enslaved woman who gained her way to freedom in  West Africa in the late 19th century and then sued her former employer.

Conclusion, Abina and the great men are an incredibly valuable resource. The ability to present an accurate and interesting story, provide a different perspective on slavery and its nature in West Africa, and  take a new approach to history has made history possible.
