Your average speed is the average difference over time (in this case 3 seconds)

\frac{h(3)-h(0)}{3}=\\
\frac{300-16*3^2-(300-16*0^2)}{3}=\\
\frac{300-16*3^2-(300)}{3}=\\
\frac{-16*3^2}{3}=\\
-16*3=-48

Answer:

-96 feet/sec.

Step-by-step explanation:

The height h of a falling object after t second when it is dropped from a platform 300 feet above the ground is modeled by the function h (t) = 300 - 16t²

Then speed or average rate by which the object falls from height h will be \frac{d[h(t)]}{dt}=\frac{d(300-16t)^{2} }{dt}

Speed = \frac{d}{dt}(300) - \frac{d}{dt}(16t^{2} )

         = -16 (2t)

Speed = -32t

After 3 second speed of object will be

Speed = -32(3)

          = -96 feet/second

Therefore, the average rate will be -96 feet/sec. during the first 3 seconds of its fall.

Arliss has two pieces of carpet runner. One is yards long and the other is yards long. She needs 10 yards of carpet runner altog
Alekssandra [29.7K]
Given:
10 yards required
5 2/3 yards on hand.

We need to subtract the yards on hand from the total yards required.

First, we need to convert the mixed fraction into an improper fraction.

5 2/3 = ((5*3)+2)/3 = (15+2)/3 = 17/3

Second, we need to multiply 10 by a fraction that will give us the denominator of 3.

10 * 3/3 = (10*3)/3 = 30/3

Third, we do subtraction using our derived fractions.

30/3 - 17/3 = (30-17)/3 = 13/3

Lastly, we simplify the improper fraction. Improper fraction is a fraction whose numerator is greater than its denominator. Its simplified form is a mixed fraction.

13/3 = 4 1/3

Arliss needs to buy 4 1/3 yards more to complete the required yard length.

I found a missing question online. <span>What is the magnitude of the angular displacement of the ride in radians between times t=0 and t= t1?

We can find the angle of both points, and when we subtract them we get angular displacement.
