Yes. I'm assuming you want to know how to identify it based on its physical properties. Any mineral can be tested and identified in a lab through chemical means. Ways to identify minerals based on their appearance are as follows:
-Streak- the rock is scratched against a hard plate. The color of the substance remaining on the plate can be used to determine the identity.
-Luster- The shininess of the rock

-Transparency- The way light passes through the rock.

-Color- The color of the rock

-Density- Essentially the weight of the rock in comparison to the amount of space it takes up.

-Crystals- The shape of the crystals it forms

-Cleavage- Whether it breaks along even, neat lines or jagged lines-

Hardness- How strong the rock is in comparison to other rocks

Basically, you observe and record the characteristics. Then, you can use tables online to narrow done what types of mineral it can be based on these properties.

Which feature is found in prokaryotic cells but not in eukaryotic cells? A. nucleus B. plasma membrane C. nucleoid D. cytoplasm

The answer is A. - Prokatyotic cells lack a defined nucleus while eukaryotic cells do have one :) I loved learning about the cells in biology! But I noticed your question is worded a little differently so the nucleus would be the one thing a eukaryotic cell has that a prokatyotic cell does not...

d1i1m1o1n [39]
The statement " Each gene in the human genome codes for a single protein. "is just wrong, as according to the basic knowledge of human genome, only about 2 percent of the genome codes for proteins. This answer does make difference and clearly explaines why the previous one is wrong. Hope you will find it helpful!

We are studying 3 strains of bacteria, with populations p1, p2, p3, in an environment with three food sources, A, B, C. In a day
Nastasia [14]

Answer:

The population of each bacteria in 1, 2, 3 are 12, 8, and 7 respectively.

Explanation:

From the given information:

For food source A; we have:

3P₁ + P₂ + 2P₃ = 58    units of food A ---- (1)

For food source B; we have:

2P₁ + 4P₂ + 2P₃ = 70   units of food B  ---- (2)

For food source C; we have:

P₁ + P₂  = 20   units of food C    ----- (3)

From equation (1) and (2); we have:

3P₁ + P₂ + 2P₃ = 58

2P₁ + 4P₂ + 2P₃ = 70

By elimination method

3P₁ + P₂ + 2P₃ = 58

-

2P₁ + 4P₂ + 2P₃ = 70

P₁  -   3P₂   + 0    = - 12

P₁ = -12 + 3P₂   ---- (4)

Replace, the value of P₁ in (4) into equation (3)

P₁ + P₂  = 20

-12 + 3P₂ + P₂  = 20

4P₂ = 20 + 12

4P₂ = 32

P₂ = 32/4

P₂ = 8

From equation (3) again;

P₁ + P₂  = 20

P₁ + 8 = 20

P₁  = 20 - 8

P₁  = 12

To find P₃; replace the value of P₁ and P₂ into (1)

3P₁ + P₂ + 2P₃ = 58

3(12) + 8 + 2P₃ = 58

36 + 8 + 2P₃ = 58

2P₃ = 58 - 36 -8

2P₃ = 14

P₃ = 14/2

P₃ =  7

Thus, the population of each bacteria in 1, 2, 3 are 12, 8, and 7 respectively.

A standard PCR cycle includes three steps: denaturation (95°C), annealing (55°C), and elongation (65°C).
xz_007 [3.2K]

Answer:

Denaturation process: The DNA template

Annealing process: Primers

Elongation process: dNTPs and Taq polymerase

Explanation:

For the denaturing process, the only ingredient that is required is the DNA template that will be separated from a double helix (or double strand) into a single strand, by increasing the temperature to 95 C, (at this temperature the hydrogen bonds that keep together the double stranded break). After the double strand is denatured, the following process is annealing. For this, the required ingredient are the primers; these primers will hybridize or anneal according to the nucleotide complementarity to the single strand of the DNA. Finally, for the Elongation process, you will require the Taq polymerase and the dNTPs. The enzyme will synthesize or “generate” a new strand of DNA based on the DNA template, using the provided dNTPs in the direction 5’ to 3’.

I hope this clarify you inquiry.
