Analyzing Political Cartoons Consider the papers lying next to the woman
mezya [45]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

What do you think the cartoonist meant by this symbol and his use of the words "Honour of Nations"

This cartoon was drawn by English political cartoonist David Law. It was titled "The Doormat," and was published in the newspaper "Evening Standard" on January 19, 1933.

The cartoon refers to the unilateral decision of the government of Japan to invade the Manchuria territory. The cartoonists tried to reflect the Ligue of Nations's message to this unauthorized invasion. The League represented by the woman lying on the floor being tread by a Japanese military official. The cartoonist wanted to show the weakness of the League of Nations that could not impede the invasion and could not impede Japan to refrain from invading Manchuria.

The cartoon shows that the League was not strong enough to play an important role in foreign affairs.

every line of serious work that i have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and
saul85 [17]

Every line of my serious writing since 1936 has been, in some way, a direct or indirect argument against tyranny and in favor of democratic socialism, as I understand it, according to George Orwell.

Eric Arthur Blair, better known by his pen name George Orwell, is an English novelist, essayist, and critic best known for his books Animal Farm (1945) and Nineteen Eighty-Four (1949), the latter of which is a profound anti-utopian work that explores the perils of totalitarian control.

However, his debut book, Down and Out in Paris and London, was published in 1933 under the name George Orwell despite the fact that he was born Eric Arthur Blair (the surname he derived from the beautiful River Orwell in East Anglia). After a while, only close family members were aware of his real identity, Blair, because his nom de plume had grown so strongly associated with him. As Orwell transitioned from being a stalwart of the British imperial elite to a literary and political rebel, his name change reflected a significant change in his lifestyle.

7. How did a war fought to bring “essential human freedoms” to the world fail to protect the home-front liberties of blacks, Ind
aniked [119]

World War II was the war fought to bring "essential human" freedoms. However, in America, many minority groups did not have the essential freedoms they were fighting overseas for.

For example, black men served in the US military and gained new economic opportunities in factories during World War II. These men were vital to the war effort. However, they still lacked the same freedom in the US in comparison to white citizens. Many black citizens were stopped from voting, attending the same school as white citizens, etc.

This was also true for Japanese American citizens. Thousands of Japanese-American citizens were put into internment camps by the US government after the attack on Pearl Harbor. This limited the freedom of these citizens even though they did not commit any crimes.

Who maintained British
musickatia [10]

Answer:

Explanation :The British were able to conquer

India by exploiting its diversity. Even when Mughal power was at

its height, India was home to many people and cultures. As

Mughal power crumbled, India became fragmented. Indians with

different traditions and dozens of different languages were not

able to unite against the newcomers. The British took advantage

of Indian divisions by encouraging competition and disunity

among rival princes. Where diplomacy or intrigue did not work,

the British used their superior weapons to overpower local rulers. They used the country for their natural resources. Missionaries and British government officals controlled India
