The Hawaiian honeycreeper has a highly evolved, mutualistic relationship with the Hawaiian silversword, a native plant that grow

s on beach front cliffs and dunes. The honeycreeper feeds almost exclusively on silversword nectar, and is the only pollinator of the plant. Hawaii, as you know, is one of the most sought-after resort areas in the world. The honeycreeper is now endangered, as a consequence of resort development.
The major contributor to the endangered status of the honeycreeper is

A)
over-hunting of honeycreepers by sportsmen.

B)
the destruction of silversword plants by condominium and hotel developers.

C)
introduction of another species of bird that also pollinates silversword plants, by zoos and pet owners.

D)
global climate change has made Hawaii too cold for the silverswords to continue growing, and honeycreepers have nothing to eat.

Answer: B The destruction of silversword plants by condominium and hotel developers.

Mutalism is a interspecific relationship between two distinct species, in which both species gets the benefit of living in an association. In the given situation, the Hawaiian honeycreeper and Hawaiian silverword plants are living in a mutalistic association. In a mutalistic relationship both the species are dependent on each other, to perform their biological functions such as honeycreeper feeds on the nectar of the plants of silverword and in turn the plants are pollinated by these birds. Thus, the decrease in population of one species can reduce the abundance of the other.

Therefore, the honeycreeper is now endangered, as a consequence of resort development because of the destruction of silverword plants by condominium and hotel developers.

Answer:

The correct option is A) if the research uses anonymous questionnaires

Explanation:

For research studies, it is always important that the consent of the participants be taken if they are to be mentioned in the research. Without the consent of a person, a researcher cannot use anything related to that person in his research. However, in scenarios where you have to keep the data anonymous and just depict the results, consent is not necessary. However, one should recognize that apart from anonymous studies, not taking consent of the participants is unethical.

Answer the question below.
mel-nik [20]

Answer:

Large areas of the earth with similar climate and ecosystems are called biomes.

Explanation:

Biomes are defined as areas of the planet with common characteristics, such as animal and plant species, as well as climate, which is why it is called a bioclimatic landscape.

When a relationship is established between an ecosystem —with all its biotic and abiotic components— and the climate in a given area, reference is made to a biome. Consequently, a biome represents large areas of land with similar geographical, climatic and biological conditions.

The other options are not correct because:

 • Communities are groups of individuals with common characteristics.
 • Populations are individuals of the same species that occupy a certain space in a certain time.
 • Organisms are synonymous with living beings.

Anastasy [175]

Answer and Explanation:

It means that there is a disease that was not included in the diagnosis, that is, it was not mentioned, but presents itself in the patient and is part of the represented code. This means that the patient can have both diseases at the same time and that more tests should be done to confirm that this is really happening.
