Who was the character Jim Crow supposed to be and who was he almost always played by?
V125BC [204]

Answer:

C.An uneducated slave, played by a white man in a black face .

Explanation:

Throughout the 1830s and '40s, the white entertainer Thomas Dartmouth Rice (1808-1860) performed a popular song-and-dance act supposedly modeled after a slave. He named the character Jim Crow. Rice darkened his face, acted like a buffoon, and spoke with an exaggerated and distorted imitation of African American Vernacular English. In his Jim Crow persona, he also sang "Negro ditties" such as "Jump Jim Crow." Rice was not the first white comic to perform in blackface, but he was the most popular of his time, touring both the United States and England. As a result of Rice's success, "Jim Crow" became a common stage persona for white comedians' blackface portrayals of African Americans.

What steps did louis xiv take to increase his royal power? what effects did his actions have on his country?
Marta_Voda [28]

Louis XIV took several steps to increase the power of the French Monarchy. Firstly he to reduce the influence of nobility and increase the power of the monarchy in France. Louis XIV requested all the nobles to live with him in place of Versailles so he could keep an eye on them so that they wouldn't have more power than him. Secondly, Louis XIV placed taxes on both imported and exported goods to collect more money for France. His action laid the groundwork for french revolution because of staggering debts as well as royal abuse of power by the king.
