What is Diapsids clade?</h3>
Diverse reptiles belong to the clade Diapsida. Extinct diapsids include dinosaurs, pterosaurs, ichthyosaurs, and numerous other well-known taxa. Modern diapsids include lizards, snakes, turtles, birds, and crocodilians, they are also considered as primary diapsids. Lepidosauromorpha (animals that are more closely related to lizards and snakes) and Archosauromorpha are two large, varied clades within the Diapsida (animals that are closer to crocs and birds). Synapsids only have one opening on each side of their skulls around the temporal bone, whereas diapsids have two large holes in their skulls known as temporal fenestrae. This is the main distinction between diapsids and synapsids.
