Answer:

CASE 3.B:  When Proper Procedure is not followed

1) Cliff should have told Sonja the details to be discussed in the meeting that had been scheduled with Cindy and what the expectations of the meeting was.

2) Cliff should have stepped in to prevent escalation of the problem.

3) Heather should have individual discussion with each of them followed by a group discussion.

Explanation:

1) Cliff should have told Sonja the details to be discussed in the meeting that had been scheduled with Cindy and what the expectations of the meeting was. Cliff should have also have informed Sonja of the importance of Cindy's role to the organization and all connections Cindy has to the organization.

2) As a supervisor, Cliff should have stepped in when it became apparent that Sonja was overstepping authority. He should have asked for a recess to brief Sonja of the importance of Cindy's role and he should have apologized to Cindy making her aware that he failed to communicate to Sonja the full details of the meeting. He should have pacified the 2 parties and asked them to share their view points one after the other explaining reasons for their actions.

3) Heather should proceed to discuss privately with each of them as a seasoned HR professional letting them know how their actions are not in line with company policy.

To Sonja, she should inform her of the need to apologize and never overstep. To Cliff, she should inform him of his duties as a supervisor which includes proper communication of relevant facts. To Cindy, she should request a reschedule of the meeting.

You are valuing a company that is projected to generate a free cash flow of $16 million next year, growing at a stable 2.8% rate
Step2247 [10]

Answer:

$4.3

Explanation:

For computing the share price, first, we have to compute the Value of firm which is shown below

= Free cash flow ÷ (cost of capital - growth rate)

= $16 million ÷ (10.6% - 2.8%)

= $16 million ÷ 7.8%

= $205.12 million

Now find the equity value which equals to

= Value of firm - debt value + cash

= $205.12 million - $23 million + $8 million

= $190.12 million

And, the number of outstanding shares is 44 million

So, the price per share would equal to

= Equity value ÷ number of outstanding shares

= $190.12 million ÷ 44 million shares

= $4.3

Required information E12-3 Understanding the Computation of Cash Flows from Operating Activities (Indirect Method) [LO 12-2] [Th
kompoz [17]

Answer:

Net income = $320

Net cash flow from Operating activity = $145

Explanation:

The journal entries are shown below:

1. Cash A/c Dr $485

        To Service revenue A/c $485

(Being sales service is provided for cash)

2. Salary expense A/c Dr $165

Outstanding salary expense A/c Dr $175

To Salary and wages payable A/c  $340

(Being salary expense is recorded)

Salary and wages payable A/c  $340

       To Cash $340

(Being salary and wages are paid)

The net cash flow from operating activities would be

= Service revenue - salaries and wages payable

= $485 - $340

= $145

The net income would be

= Sales - salary expense

= $485 - $165

= $320

Cash flow from Operating activities under the indirect method

Net income $320

Less: Decrease in salary payable - $175

Net Cash flow from Operating activities $145
