Because Taiwan has a political feud with China, China thinks Taiwan is part of their country, therefore does not recognize Taiwan as a official country, hence the name "Chinese Taipei".

I'm Taiwanese, so I'm trying to make this an unbiased answer. Also, we are trying very hard to get the right to use our flag and the name Taiwan in international events.

Hi :) anyone able to explain what are landmasses & examples of them too? Thanks :)
dalvyx [7]

Answer:

A landmass is a big area of land.

Explanation:

While there different definitions of what constitutes a landmass and what is only a piece of land, accepted consensus is that a landmass is a very large area of land that is not broken up by oceans.

Australia, for example, is a continent, but it is also a landmass. Asia, too is a landmass that is connected to other landmasses such as the European and African continents.

Landmasses can also be smaller. Greenland, for example, is much smaller than Australia and is considered an island, not a continent. But, it is a landmass.
