The ability to own property is only available to free people. For example, in the early 1800's a slave could not own property.

Back when slaves were still a part of life they would be tagged as "property" and as you probably know they were not free so just say that "slaves were non free men women and children being forced to work or do labor because they are only property

In other words, that affirmation that Allah is the only deity and that Muhammad is his messenger. After that, everything is action, is practice. The other four, i.e., praying, fasting, paying the zakat -- what I call a social tax -- and the hajj, involve action. Muslims are very action-oriented.
