To solve this we are going to use the formula for the lateral surface area of a regular pyramid: LSA= \frac{1}{2} pk
where
LSA is the lateral surface area.
p is the perimeter of the base.
k is the slant height.

We know for our problem that LSA=198 and k=12, so lets replace those values in our formula and solve for p:
LSA= \frac{1}{2} pk
198= \frac{1}{2} (p)(12)
198=6p
p= \frac{198}{6}
p=33

Now we know that the perimeter of the base of our regular triangular pyramid is 33 cm. Remember that the perimeter of a triangle is the sum of its 3 sides. Since our pyramid is regular, its base will be an equilateral triangle, so to f<span>ind the length of the base edge, we just need to divide the perimeter by 3:
</span>base.edge= \frac{33}{3}
base.edge=11
<span>
We can conclude that the length of the base edge of our regular triangular pyramid is 11 cm.</span>

Answer:

  1. -51
  2. -30
  3. -60
  4. 2 or -2

Step-by-step explanation:

The function puts a minus sign on 3 times the magnitude of the input.

1. y = -|3×17| = -51

2. y = -|3×10| = -30

3. y = -|3×20| = -60

4. -6 = -|3x|

  2 = |x| . . . . divide by -3

  x = ±2 . . . . two possibilities

Dahasolnce [82]

The maximum height of the tray is 1.8 meters and the tray is in the air for 2 seconds

<h3>The maximum height of the tray</h3>

The distorted information (i.e. the function) in the question is:

h(t) = -0.2t^2 + 0.4t + 1.6

Differentiate the function

h'(t) = -0.4t + 0.4

Set to 0

-0.4t + 0.4 = 0

Subtract 0.4 from both sides

-0.4t = -0.4

Divide by -0.4

t = 1

Substitute t = 1 in h(t) = -0.2t^2 + 0.4t + 1.6

h(1) = -0.2(1)^2 + 0.4(1) + 1.6

Evaluate

h(1) = 1.8

Hence, the maximum height of the tray is 1.8 meters

<h3>Time spent in the air</h3>

In (a), we have:

t = 1

This represents the time to reach the maximum height.

The time spent in the air is:

T = 2t

This gives

T = 2 * 1

T = 2

Hence, the tray is in the air for 2 seconds
