Which excerpt from "Binding Memories” contains imagery that helps the reader understand why the speaker loves books?
egoroff_w [7]
I think the best answer is the first few lines of the "Binding Memories" which is "No matter how many were printed, <span>there was only one copy like mine.</span><span>". The lines really speaks to me that the speaker really loves his books and that no matter how many exist of that book, his copy is exceptional and the only one for him.</span>

1. What smart idea does the editorial applaud ?
coldgirl [10]

Answer:

1. Mr. Jones’ marketing strategy, where he announced “quiet lunch” time, the hours between 12 to 3 pm where high school students are banned from coming to his restaurant, Munchy’s, to attract business people back to his restaurants who have been avoiding going there for lunch.

2. His decreasing profits during school months, which he identifies due to well-off businessmen and women customers avoiding the restaurant when lunch hours arrive. He also found out that these customers avoid going to his restaurant due to high school students’ raucousness when coming to his restaurant at lunch hours.

Explanation:

We can see the answer to these questions in the third paragraph, which talks about the type of innovations businesses should do on their own instead of just relying only on the municipal government for help.

Which statement best describes the impact of rhetorical<br> techniques in this excerpt?
Alenkasestr [34]

This question is incomplete. I was able to find the complete question online. It is the following:

Read the excerpt from Ronald Reagan's "Tear Down This Wall" speech.

I understand the fear of war and the pain of division that afflict this continent-and I pledge to you my country's efforts to help overcome these burdens. To be sure, we in the West must resist Soviet expansion. So we must maintain defenses of unassailable strength. Yet we see peace; so we must strive to reduce arms on both sides.

Which statement best describes the impact of rhetorical techniques in this excerpt?

A. The use of loaded language creates the need for immediate action in Europe.

B. The use of repetition reminds the audience of the obstacles they must defeat.

C. The use of inclusive language emphasizes hope for a better relationship in the future.

D. The use of exclusive language shows the contrast between the two countries.

Answer:

The statement which best describes the impact of rhetorical techniques in the excerpt is:

C. The use of inclusive language emphasizes hope for a better relationship in the future.

Explanation:

Ronald Reagan (1911-2004) was the 40th president of the United States. "Tear Down This Wall" is a speech Reagan gave in West Berlin in 1987. The wall he refers to is the Berlin Wall, built with the purpose of dividing Berlin into two sides: one capitalist, the other socialist.

<u>In the particular excerpt we are analyzing here, Reagan is using inclusive language. That is especially evident when he uses the subject "we". "We" is basically the same as "you and I", which means the president was including the West Berlin when he spoke of the actions that must be taken.</u> It is not "we the United States", it is "we, our countries" working together to bring peace and resist Soviet expansion. With that in mind, we can choose letter C as the best option:

The use of inclusive language emphasizes hope for a better relationship in the future.
