A polygon is composed of three or more line segments ,and when you join these segments ,a closed geometrical shape should form.For example, Equilateral triangle, Square, Regular Pentagon, Regular Hexagon,....

There are many possibilities.

→If you join an Equilateral and three other equilateral triangles having same base length,you will obtain, Equilateral Pyramid.

→If you join Square and four equilateral triangles having same base length,you will obtain, Equilateral Square Pyramid.

→Similarly, if you join Regualr Pentagon and five equilateral triangles having same base length,you will obtain, Equilateral Regular pentagonal Pyramid

→Regular Hexagon+Six equilateral triangles=Equilateral Regular Hexagonal Pyramid

→If you join six congruent squares ,you will get the shape of Prism called Cube.

These are known that is defined shape in mathematics which i have written.You can create many more shapes by yourself.

vovikov84 [41]

Answer:

30.1 feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given that a school flag poll casts a 16 foot shadow on the lawn. A teacher stood at the shadows edge and measure the angle of elevation to the top of the poll at 62°. We are asked to find the height of the tall.

First of all, we will draw a diagram to represent our give scenario as shown in the attachment.

We can see that side length with 16 feet is adjacent side and height of the pole (h) is opposite side to angle of elevation.

We know that tangent relates opposite side of a right triangle to its adjacent side.

\text{tan}=\frac{\text{Opposite}}{\text{Adjacent}}

\text{tan}(62^{\circ})=\frac{h}{16}

h=16\cdot \text{tan}(62^{\circ})

h=16\cdot 1.880726465346

h=30.0916234\approx 30.1

Therefore, the poll is approximately 30.1 feet tall.

John has a map that shows a rectangular park 1 1/4 cm : 8 yd. on the map, the width of the park is 2 1/2 cm. What is the parks a
Ber [7]

Answer:

16 yd.  This is the park's actual length.

Step-by-step explanation:

Write and solve an equation of ratios:

1 1/4 cm     8 yd

------------ = -----------

2 1/2 cm        x

Note that 2(1 1/4 cm) = 2 1/2 cm, so the above equation becomes:

 1       8 yd

----- = ---------

  2         x

Solving for x, we get x = 16 yd.  This is the park's actual length.
