T object]user: solve y2 4y – 32 = 0 using the zero product property

The zero product property means that 0a=0.

(I'm assuming that by y2 you mean y squared btw)

y^{2} 4y - 32 = 0

4y - 32 =  \frac{0}{ y^{2} }

the zero divided by y is zero:

4y - 32 = 0

move the 4y

-32 = 4y

\frac{-32}{4} = y

y = -8

Hope that helps!

Step-by-step explanation:

The symmetric property of equality tells us that both sides of an equal sign are equal no matter which side of the equal sign they are on. Remember it states that if x = y, then y = x.
