Excerpt from: Preventing Backovers in America's Driveways National Highway Transportation Safety Administration 1 Vehicle backov

er injuries and deaths occur when someone, without a driver’s knowledge or awareness, is positioned behind a vehicle as the driver is backing out of a driveway or other parking spot. Most victims of backovers are the elderly and children. 2 To add to the tragedy of backover injuries and deaths, the driver is often a neighbor or relative. When a child is the victim, the driver may even be the child’s mother or father. 3 Since most of these heartbreaking incidents occur in private driveways rather than on the road, they are not typically included in traffic-crash fatality data. Therefore, experts often don’t agree on the exact number of children injured or killed in backover incidents each year. 4 But even one child who dies from a backover incident is one too many. Awareness and understanding of the problem are the first steps toward reducing the risk of backover deaths. Based on the passage, you can infer that these accidents are particularly devastating because A) victims are often adults. B) the driver is often a relative. C) there are usually no witnesses. D) they happen on private property.

B) The driver is often a relative.

In the passage it states, "Most victims of backovers are the elderly and children. 2 To add to the tragedy of backover injuries and deaths, the driver is often a neighbor or relative." This shows that the driver is often a relative of the victim making the accident even more devastating because it is a loved one who the driver has injured.

Alenkasestr [34]
Conclusions made on the basis of unstated or stated evidence are called "inference".

Inference is mainly using observation as well as background in order to reach a logical conclusion.

When do you feel proud? explain
i need five sentences for this one
fenix001 [56]
I feel proud when I have done something that would benefit other people. I also feel proud when I see my friends and family do well in their lives. I feel proud knowing that the things I did helped someone. When I was able to overcome something that kept from achieving my goal, then I feel proud. When I know what I did was right and people say so, I feel a sense of pride. Most I feel proud when the bonds of family and friends stay strong.

(A) a stone cannot be ethical because_________. (B) whereas human can be ethical because_________.
Sloan [31]
You didn't give the options. However, i'll try.
To me, a stone cannot be ethical because it cannot suffer. Indeed, the capacity for suffering must be satisfied before we talk about interest in a meaningful way. For instance, nothing we could possibly do for a stone could make a difference in its welfare. It don't have interest. Whereas, we, humans have interest. Therefore we can be ethical because we are sentient beings that can be benifited or harmed. It's because we can experience pain as a result.
Hope this helps !
