In New England, land was the most important component of wealth from first settlement through the American Revolution (1775–1783). In nearly all of New England, large-scale commercial agriculture was not possible because of climate, topography, and the quality of the soil. In the interior farming predominated (supplemented, early on, by trapping) but most of these farms were engaged in subsistence agriculture that provided, at most, a small surplus for their owners. The distribution of land was fairly egalitarian in nearly all of New England because of the custom of dividing land among heirs. Over time, however, there was social stratification as a result of land speculation.

What country stands in america's away from controlling all of the gulf coast?
ExtremeBDS [4]
The correct answer is Mexico.

Because of Mexico and their gulf of Mexico, the United States cannot control the entire gulf area. If the area changed hands and went to the United States, they could unite the two gulfs and have a huge control over the land and the ports in the new world. However, that's probably never going to happen so it stays this way for now.

How was the Estates-General useful in uniting France under one national identity?
Sliva [168]
The Estates-General was established in 1789 by King Philip IV of France as a collective group of nobles, clergymen, and commoners to unite France as a single national unity. They served together as a single legislative body of the French Government. All social classes were given equal voting rights and rights to enforce taxation laws. As a result, privileges were not reserved exclusively for the wealthy people. The establishment of Estates-General was one of the reasons for the French Revolution.
