Two lights will be arranged on a two-dimensional plane. The vertical distance between the two lights is stored in the double var
lbvjy [14]

Answer:

double a;

double b;

double distance = Math.sqrt( (Math.pow(a, 2) + Math.pow(b, 2));

System.out.println("The distance is: " + distance);

Explanation:

The code snippet is written in Java.

First, variable a is declared as a type of double and variable b is also declared as a type of double.

The given formula for the distance is:

√(a² + b²)

So we use the inbuilt function of Java to calculate the power and the square root.

Math.sqrt is to find the square root and it returns a value of type double.

Math.pow is use to calculate the value of a² and b².

a² = Math.pow(a, 2)

b² = Math.pow(b, 2)

Then Math.sqrt is applied to the sum of Math.pow(a, 2) and Math.pow(b, 2), the value is assigned to distance of type double.

The value of distance is now displayed to the user:

System.out.println("The distance is: " + distance);

The owner of a plant nursery will conduct a study to investigate whether a new fertilizer is more effective than an older fertil
bagirrra123 [75]

Answer:

1. It reduces the probability of sampling bias.

2. A random sample will be more representative of the whole population.

3. Allows the researcher to determine the efficacy of the fertilizer.

Explanation:

Selecting a simple random simple from a large population is a widely used method in science. Researchers select a random sample so every individual, in this case seedling, has an equal chance to be selected.

Therefore, it is an accurate method that, although is not free from errors, avoids or reduces the probability of sampling bias. Selecting a truly random tomato seedling will be more representative of the whole population of seedling instead of selecting carefully a seedling that already has specific or desired characteristics. Hence, this random sampling will allow the researcher to determine the efficacy of the fertilizer.

Nana76 [90]

Answer:

Drive reduction theory is the idea that a phycological need creates an aroused state that drives the organism to reduce the need by doing the desired act. homeostasis is the physiological aim of drive reduction, homeostasis is the maintenance of a steady internal state. Incentives are positive or negative stimuli that lure or repel us from reducing drives. Optimal arousal theory says that some motivational behaviors actually increase arousal. last of all, Maslow's hierarchy of needs,  a pyramid diagram showing our needs on each level, going from physiological to self transcendence.
