Answer:

The graph is attached below in DESMOS

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

x- 2y = 6

It is the equation of a line

Intercepts:

The line which intersect on x-axis and y-axis are called intercepts.

There are two intercepts:

x-intercept: The line which intersect at x-axis. So when the line intersect at x-axis Y coordinate is zero.

y-intercept: The line which intersect at y-axis. So when the line intersect at y-axis X coordinate is zero.

We need to graph the equation using the X and Y intercepts,

For y-intercept

put x = 0 in the given equation we get

0 - 2y = 6

-2y = 6

∴ y = -3

∴ B ≡ (0 ,-3) {blue color in desmos i.e y-intercept}

For x-intercept

put y = 0 in the given equation we get

x - 2 × 0 = 6

x = 6

∴ x = 6

∴ A ≡ (6 , 0) {green color in desmos i.e x-intercept}

For a graph we require minimum two points so we have point A and point B see the attachment below.

How do you solve this? Matt had some candy to give to his four children. He first took two pieces for himself and then evenly di
Rasek [7]

You work it backwards.

-- If there were 4 children and each child got 4 pieces,
then the children got (4 x 4) = 16 pieces altogether.

-- That's what was left after he took 2 pieces for himself.
So he started with (16 + 2) = 18 pieces.

Harvey can run 3 1/6 km in 1/4 hour. Harvey runs at a constant rate
lyudmila [28]

Answer:

12 2/3 km/hour or 12.666 km/hour

Step-by-step explanation:

Because 3 1/6 is the rate for every quarter hour, simply multiply that rate by 4 in order to get the average speed over the course of an hour.

The sum of three consecutive odd numbers is 69. What is the third number in this sequence?
Papessa [141]

let the first odd number = x

the sum of three consecutive odd numbers is 69

(x) + (x + 2) + (x + 4) = 69

Simplify. Combine like terms

3x + 6 = 69

Isolate the x. Note the equal sign. What you do to one side, you do to the other. Do the opposite of PEMDAS. First, subtract 6 from both sides

3x + 6 (-6) = 69 (-6)

3x = 63

Next, divide 3 from both sides to isolate the x.

3x/3 = 63/3

x = 63/3

x = 21

To solve for the third number, plug in 21 back into x.

(x + 4)

21 + 4 = 25

The third number is 25

hope this helps
